Home Depot, Six Flags in marketing partnership

Atlanta Business Chronicle - May 8, 2006

The Home Depot Inc. has a marketing deal with Six Flags Inc. that includes the sale of theme park tickets at certain Home Depot stores.

Under the agreement, Home Depot's Home Depot Supply unit is now the sole supplier of commercial improvement, building supply, construction, repair and maintenance products to Six Flags parks across North America. The Atlanta-based home improvement retailer (NYSE: HD) said its deal with New York-based Six Flags Inc. (NYSE: PKS) also creates co-marketing opportunities in Home Depot stores and Six Flags theme parks. For example, Six Flags tickets will be sold at all Home Depot stores within a 100-mile radius of a Six Flags-branded U.S. theme park. Six Flags operates Atlanta's Six Flags Over Georgia, American Adventures and Six Flags White Water theme parks.

Six Flags will get a sponsorship fee and a range of promotions, including NASCAR show car appearances and Kids Workshop clinics at select parks. Home Depot will hold a corporate outing at each Six Flags-branded park.

Home Depot will get significant signage and branding in Six Flags parks, and the companies will collaborate to highlight Home Depot products, including VIVA! SunPatiens, a flower that thrives in full sun and high heat conditions; and long-lasting, low-maintenance Veranda composite decking.
